Makeup Tips for Indian Brides

South Asian and Arabic brides look is dramatic and bold with lots of brights colors.  Here are some wedding day makeup tips for the South Asian and Arabic bride:


Eyes
It is definitely all about the eyes when it comes to South Asian and Arabic bridal makeup. Eye shadows in super bright, even contrasting colors, are used to match with the bride’s outfit. The key to wearing a lot of colors is to make sure they are smoked out and blended seamlessly.

According to  London-based makeup artist Angela Holthuis, the use of eyeliner is very important. “It sort of defines the culture, their beauty, in my opinion.” She prefers gel liners as they are easier to apply and are waterproof. “They are great for lining the inner rim of the eye and they stay put for hours, unlike pencils.”

With this much eye makeup, remember to use products that are fully waterproof and to make sure you keep your eyebrows in check.

Lips
Like the eyes, lips can come in bright reds, oranges and pinks. Steer clear from anything too pale to avoid looking washed out and make sure the color you choose goes well with the rest of your look.

Mehndi
Mehndi, needless to say, is a very important part of a bride’s makeup. It is traditionally done fully on the arms and legs but nowadays, brides usually go for a more subtle look and they try to keep the patterns modern.

"Gift of Life" Fundraiser for the Rotary Club Gold Coast

We had the honor and privilege of coordinating a fundraiser called the "Gift of Life" hosted by the Rotary Club Gold Coast in New York, a worldwide organization.

The room was designed with a Valentine's Day theme which took special preparation and included a red carpet lined with human statues.  Guests were so mesmerized by the statues that a line was  formed by guests waiting to take pictures with them.

After the cocktail hour, guests moved into the ballroom which was decorated using six foot tall centerpieces and red ambiance lighting. 

 
Entertainment arranged  by our sister company BollyArts took center stage shortly thereafter..with speeches and an award ceremony to follow.    

This was a full service event that included event design, coordinating and management.  

Our client and their guests were very happy and we were so honored to be a part of it.

Different styles, colors and types of flowers are essential in the creation of beautiful Indian flower decorations. Pre Wedding Sangeet/Henna Party

We had an amazing time designing and coordinating this pre-wedding henna party.  As you'll notice the beauty lies within the details.

The Pre wedding Party took place on November 23rd 2011 at Akbar, Long Island. The Pre wedding party is called a Sangeet.

This is an occasion filled with colors, fun,laughter and dances. As you can see from the pictures when we say colorful we really mean colorful.  

The girls all apply HENNA on their hands along with the bride, as this is considered an auspicious and traditional  occasion.

The Bridal party and The grooms party all get together for this pre wedding party(sangeet) and dance the night away.

Incredibly entertaining engagement party for Daman and Navnit Singh

We had the opportunity of preparing Daman and Navnit Singh engagement party at The Hilton, Long Island.  

Two amazing performers entered the room "red carpet" style using the red carpet as a part of their costume...guests were walking in on the red carpet not knowing it was their dress. 

Champagne was served by a woman dressed in an outfit that truly put a new meaning to the phrase, "wearing your drink." 

Guests were welcomed by a bartender dressed in white who was hanging upside down.  She served drinks to all the guests that way and was often photographed by guests throughout the night.

As if that wasn't enough, Bollyarts provided a showstopping dance performances by our very own Bollyarts Dance troupe which had the guests going crazy.

 

Beautiful decor and lighting filled the room which truly added to the enchantment of the evening.

Traditional Indian wedding fashion

One of the biggest differences between Indian weddings and Western weddings is how many events and ceremonies occur.  Because of that there are several different outfits that are worn.  For example, Western brides typically wear one wedding gown for the ceremony and reception.  However, Indian brides traditionally wear several different outfits.  It makes for incredibly beautiful and colorful photos.

A Fairy Tale Wedding Remembered...

Warlock Wedding Planners would like to share a very special day with you!  It was November 11th, 2011...a day fit for a king and his queen!  The marriage of two very beautiful people.  It was unlike any other and will be in our memories forever.  The wedding took place at the Hyatt Regency on Long Island.  It was a privilege and we were proud to do the event.  The entertainment production was presented by Bolly Arts.  Designed as though it was the beginning of a fantasy, the young couple were transported by an elegant horse carriage from the wedding straight to the reception hall!

The ultimate highlight of the entire episode was the Grand Entrance of the bride and groom.  During the festivities, talented women in red feathered costumes performed exotic dance and later, they transformed into heavenly angels in white, dancing in cherubic glory!  The guests were mesmerized as they stole the show!  There was hardly a moment that a single person was not displaying a pleasant smile on their face!

The complete affair turned out be quite the phenomenon and was captured with still life photography.  Even the guests couldn't get enough pictures!  We were able to give the bride exactly what she had imagined for her special day, from the mood of the music to the amazing entertainment!  She experienced the fairytale wedding she had always dreamed of as a young girl.  Even the guests expressed their heartfelt thanks as they, too, felt they had lived for a day in a fantasy!  They still reminisce about this wedding to this very day.
